Get to Know Gary Dwyer

I am the Broker / Owner of Buyer Agents of Boston which I founded in January 2005 to provide home buyers throughout all of Boston's neighborhoods as well as Cambridge, Quincy, Arlington, Malden, Somerville, Medford and Winchester an unbiased voice in helping them make one of the biggest decisions of their life.

As an Exclusive Buyer Agent, I provide a host of value-added services and advice that is not available through a traditional real estate agent.  Virtually all real estate agents are working for the seller and can not give the level of advice, service and expertise that I can provide to home buyers.

In addition to being a member of the National Association of Realtors, I am also a member of the Massachusetts Realtor Association, Greater Boston Real Estate Board, Massachusetts Association of Buyer Agents and the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents.  I teach many first-time home buyer sessions every year and am often quoted about the current state of the Boston real estate market in local media.

I am the only Exclusive Buyer Agent in Boston that has earned the prestigious Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation from the National Association of REALTORS.  This designation is only held by 4% of REALTORs nationwide and represents the highest level of knowledge, professionalism and experience in the field of residential real estate. I have also earned the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Graduate - Realtor Institute (GRI) and the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designations.

I am a life-long resident of the Greater Boston area and have earned an MBA from Bentley College.  I currently reside in the Back Bay/South End neighborhood of Boston.

Then, you really should go see Gary Dwyer at Buyer Agents of Boston.  After talking with a few real estate agents, we chose Gary, and we are so happy we did. He helped us with EVERYTHING and the whole experience was great.  First, Gary helped us figure out what we wanted, needed and could realistically expect to find. He also helped a lot in finding places we might be interested in, set appointments for us to see all these places and came with us. We were not in a rush and we looked for almost a year. Gary was able to set up appointments so we could see a bunch of places in a couple of hours during the week or Saturday mornings, and having him there was great because we learned a lot  about what to ask and what to look for.  Gary had a great eye for the strengths and weaknesses of places and always told us what he thought about each place in a very descriptive and objective way, never saying "You should do this or that".  Even though he was not going to make any money until we bought a place and we took a long time, he never pressured us in any way. He kept at it until we found a place we wanted to make an offer on, and even then, he suggested we take a little time to make sure that was what we wanted. He also had very good recommendations for a mortgage broker, lawyer, inspectors, etc.    When we were ready to make an offer, he explained everything carefully and made sure we knew exactly what the process would be like, etc. He helped us negotiate the price and then managed everything flawlessly. Before we knew it, we were sitting at the closing table. Six months later and we look back at our first home buying experience as a pleasant one instead of having nightmares about it, who would have thought?
