Annetta K. Powell was born in Detroit, MI to deaf parents. At age 19, she began her career in corporate America at Johnson Controls, as a materials coordinator while concurrently receiving a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. After surviving a brutal sexual assault and an abusive relationship, and tired of working; struggling to live paycheck to paycheck, she decided to take control of her future and maximize her opportunities for success. At the age of 24, Powell purchased her first real estate property for $18,000 and realized a profit of $24,000. Since 2002, Powell has purchased, renovated and sold more than 500 properties totaling $50 million dollars in real estate sales. With a tenacious attitude, and an ingenious spirit, Powell rose above the odds, and through hard work and sacrifice, succeeded at forming a multi-million dollar empire.
