Great for editing photos although the learning curve is a bit steep.
If you are tech-minded, there are some free alternatives out there, but they aren't supported or documented as well as Photoshop.

Adobe Photoshop is fantastic, I sue it daily for editing photos, making graphics and print materials and color correction. I have been using Photoshop since I was in Elementary School and it has been a staple graphic design software for me even in my early 20s. I enjoy the versatility of Photoshop – you can create basically anything you want. I use it for school and my blog. Nothing can beat Photoshop at all!

I have been using Photoshop since late 1990s. As a virtual photographer I was encouraged to crop, accentuate, change color. The best feature is one can add blue clouds in a rainy day which is cool.
