I see a boy. He is sad. Failing school. Challenging to adults. Sometimes quiet and uncommunicative. Bored. But mostly the F's slap me in the face. Something is wrong here. So I ask him if he willing spend Thursdays with me - on his short school days. "I guess". I'm sure The Kid thinks it's pun

I have read about eBooks for compiling real estate-related blog posts, but I have wanted to make a real book, with hard cover and paper pages, of my personal favorites... just for me. I decided to make one last weekend, and it just arrived. I LOVE IT! These are my favorite posts - about my favor

In college, I hated writing. I'ld a rather poke out my eye than write. I avoided classes where writing might be involved, and even ended my dreams of becoming a teacher because of one prerequisite class - extemporary writing. Then during one soul searching session I told myself I was an ass. I

I just read that summer camp registration is up - 5 - 30% in California camps. It seems that as the economy improves, people send their kids to camp again! WaHoo.... Things must be getting better. I wrote about this a few years ago, and that is what seems to be happening - the way out of our fin

I found this the other day - reflections I wrote in 1998 on how the parents banded together at Cambridge Heights Elementary in Citrus Heights, CA, to improve the playgrounds, purchase tech equipment, and even bought a building back in the 1990's. It's awe inspiring for me to remember these days.
