The Charm of Yesteryear in the Irvington Neighborhood Okay, so this is a curb alongside the street - typical it's filled with Portland rain water this time of year. The nice reflections of trees . . . and all that . . . Notice the metal ring?  Know what the metal ring thingy is? I'll wait . . .  ...

So a little back story: I'm looking at listings yesterday for an investor buyer client I'm working with and noticed in the PUBLIC remark section of the listing sheet: Don't look at Zillow or Yahoo for info it not correct! Too funny.  I wonder why the listing agent felt a need to put that in th...

This is a newbie blogger on Active Rain.  I like his well-written post and find it refreshing.  As an Exclusive Buyers Agent I, too, marvel at buyers who want to play Realtor and call listing agents thinking they'll get a better deal, or an inside scope . . . I think those days might be over. But...

Being A Buyers Broker in Portland OR is Easy . . . Yeah Right! This article was inspired by two separate things: 1) Anna B's, "Who Signed the Contract After the Fact?" caught my attention.  Anna B was acting as a buyers broker in this "HUH?" tale, and . . . 2) A dear colleague and personal friend...

When I Wish Upon a Website . . . We all know how important our wesbites and web-presence are in the world of real estate marketing/advertising.  I love my BuyersAgentPortland.com WordPress site, my ActiveRain Blogs and my old-fashioned website that I've had since the beginning of time my real est...

Good post by Mimi Foster -- of course I'd think that as a Buyers Agent -- who practices Exclusive Buyer Agency. Unfortunately, the Buyer Rep Agreements in our local market, are FLAWED in my humble opinion. 1) The are titled "Exclusive Buyer Service Agreement" -- which confused buyers into thinkin...

Making a GOOD Impression! Not too long ago a plumber changed out the kitchen faucet in one of my rentals.  Two days after the faucet was installed, the kitchen floor was flooded.  Apparently, the hot water valve under the sink had a cracked packing nut. Hmmmmm . . . didn't the plumber tell me he ...

HA . . . this is GREAT one for Valentine's Day.  The Naked Blogger, Mel(inda) Peterson really out does David Letterman on her top 10 list. I don't want to be a plot spoiler, so read the entire blog, the salutation is the best and then this will all make sense. And YES -- we all love and appreciat...

This is a wonderful post by John McCormack. There are very few instances where the original wants/needs aren't "updated" in same way or form. I've had clients want "one-level" only to end up buying a wonderful split.  Sq. ft. on the home and number of bedrooms made all the difference in the world...

"I don't care who I talk to . . . I just want to buy the house." This was a statement made by a caller a few days ago.  The call started off with:  "Hi, I'm calling on your listing . . . " and then my mind wandered off. I don't have listings as an Exclusive Buyers Agent.  I am THRILLED when I get...
