Great blog about new construction by local Northern Virginia home inspector Jay Markanich.   Codes are not a best practice and they are really just a basic requirement.  And any builder who would refuse to fix such terribly poor workmanship should have their license revoked, in my humble opinion....

When thinking of buying a new home in Virginia, there is some basic research you should do as a buyer.   The web is so full of great information, and there are great listing agents who make you think you probably know everything there is to know about a house, but you should do some due diligence...
