On April 18, 2024, National Association of Realtors® (NAR) reported that nationwide regional existing home sales in the Northeast gained 4.2% in March of 2024 from of February 2024 to an annual rate 500,000 homes, but dropped 3.8% from March of 2023. The median price in the Northeast was $434,600 in March 2024, rose 9.9% from March of 2023.Home sales in the Midwest down 1.9% in March of 2024 from February of 2024 to an annual rate 1.01 million homes, and lower 1.0% from March of 2023. It’s time for an update on our bluebird boxes! If you follow my blog then you know that Larry and I monitor bluebird boxes at Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve. We also have a bluebird box at home. Our most prolific box is on its second brood for the season. There were 5 eggs and from what we can tell 4 hatched (on Monday, 4/22) We have 2 boxes with baby birds however one has baby chickadees (we think) and the other has wrens, both cavity nesters. We had to insert our wireless endoscope in the wren nest to see what was in the nest. ( Baby chickadees hatched last week.)  Wren's nests are different from bluebirds and chickadees in they look like one big mess.    Our nest at home is on its second brood and a second egg was laid today! There has been a campaign to get a Costco in The Villages, Florida for years.  Almost daily post on many of the Facebook groups serving The Villages, letters to the editor on Villages-News, even a Facebook group promoting the idea.  It was announced Costco is coming and it is big news on social media.  Please know we already have a Sam’s Club and a BJ’s Wholesale Club but folks wanted Costco but not sure everybody will be happy about the location.  Costco will be built next to the Hobby Lobby on CR 466 toward the west end of The Villages.  I just did driving directions from the very south end of The Villages and it is 20 miles with plenty of roundabouts, the Clermont location might be quicker I think.We currently have one Target, second being built, two Lowes Home Improvement, one Home ... 04/24/2024
