One in NYC. Four in Charlotte. Every change was not for the better. When I moved from KW to RE/MAX I knew it was a mistake within a week... couldn't fully admit it after all the work it took to change and it took me three years to move back to RE/MAX. That move back to RE/MAX was for the better!

4 and had my first kept the doors open, I would still be there...However, the first one closing led me to working with devlopers & builders and I absolutely loved doing that until the market tanked.

The other two (between where I am now) - improvement was a key factor in making the move. This last move (to RE/MAX), well, I should have done this LONG ago!

I appreciate the chance to "vent" every time this question comes up Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®,CRS,  I have worked under 6 counting myself as Broker/Owner. NO, not every change has been for the better but most of my changes have been out of necessity. Some times the necessity is not obvious to an outside observer. I left my 1st broker because his corrupt morals were affecting mine.

Technically eleven although three were absorbed into larger corporations, one became independent of its parent company and one gave me the authority to work in two of their divisions, residential and commercial, the only agent ever given that permission. All transitions were for the better except one which was of short duration.

I've worked for 2 different brokers.  Both have been good experiences.  You really need to decide what kind of agent and niche you're going to build and then pick an agency which will suit you. There are many models, some more costly than others.
