Voicemail please. You haven't lived until you've been on an important call on your cell phone with texts going off 20 times because somebody is telling you their life story. You can text me and tell me to check my voicemail and I will get right back to you. Stop there, though. Please!

It's faster for me to reply with text.

Since the caller is already on the phone, I prefer they leave a message.

However, if they choose to skip the call entirely, I'm perfectly happy receiving a text.

I do not expect a caller faced with the "leave message" prompt to hang up then text. But that is what many will do believing the agent will give priority to the text message response.

Do agents REWARD that action?

Either is fine with me but, if I'm at my desk and someone messages me, I see my messages on my iMessages and can type a quick reply. 

For me, I would prefer an e-mail, because a text makes a louder bell tone, while an e-mail coming through is not quite as disturbing.  And, I get back to either type of message in the same timeframe, as quickly as I can Jordan Ayan.

Either. If it's a quick question a text might be the better way to go. If it's something that requires a conversation then I'll likely be calling you back regardless how you leave the message.

Texts are nice in that we can read the message easily.

If you are already calling then I would prefer you leave a voice mail.  I rarely miss phone calls, but when I do I return my calls promptly...

VM  ... it is pathetic how many will call ... and then not leave a message..... when I call them back I let them know how rude it is to do so..... often times it may be a vendor call ... yet..... it is not acceptable to interrupt me and not leave a message..... we need to challenge those that think differently......great question.....

Voice mail is an opportunity for them to leave more info in a shorter period of time... especially since they are already on the phone.  I'm fine with a text also.

Yes, specially now a days same thing happening on cell phone which was happening on land line before.

My preference is text. I am not good at checking my voice messages like I should.

Text, please...so much simpler than having to listen to a voice mail, especially if they are calling from one number and leaving a different number for a call back. Please, just text me. 

Voice mail for sure. But I am not opposed to getting a text either. 

I am happy with both or either. I do like text, because I don’t have to worry about misunderstanding in the spoken message. Also may be able to respond to a text a bit quicker under some circumstances.
