Just one and a few name changes over the years to freshen things up, but love my independent company going on 32 years in November

Debbie well I've had my own company since 2006 and I like that. Before that I was with a big one here in the valley and it was outstanding with great brokers and lots of great agents.

I have been with 4 and will soon be joining my 5th. 3 of the 4 have been independents and so will be the 5th. The one that "stood out" the most for me was a one man show (me) under a broker who operated his own agency but thought I would flourish by myself. He was correct. However his evil stepson stole his business and everything he owned and I was not a Broker so that shop folded. I've done my best to re-create it with National Marketing Realtors but it has not ignited as well as my previous creation. November 1st I am joining some other creative minds and look forward to building a new dynasty here in Minot ND.

3-- one local independent (3 y), Prudential (2 y), and my own (12 y). All provided me with what I needed at the time I needed it.

Over 37 years I have been with 5 franchises (I am back at C-21 for a second round) and at my own independent company for 10 years. I liked my own the best.

I have been with 4 companies (one of them twice). The first one was a local agency that specialized in mentoring new agents. They really taught you the business. Unfortunately, the split was so bad most agents left after about 1 year. But it was a good place to learn.

Only affiliated with one, but have worked with most of them over the last 30 years.
Anxiously awaited the arrival of Kw in our area and am enthusiastically helping KW to dominate in Stevens Point.

I became licensed in 1993 and joined a boutique brokerage who had a dominant market share but not in the San Gabriel Valley area where I live and work -- I left there to join Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage(my current office) in 1996. The original company where I first practiced as a real estate professional was later purchased by NRT(the parent company of CBRB).

4 - one being my own. Sold my share of the company (independent) and after interviewing MOST brokerages in Charlotte, joined RE/MAX (franchise, of course).
So far, exceptional is how I would describe my experience with RE/MAX!

As of last week I am now on number three. Our franchise just merged with a different brand and most of our office has decided to go with the new-to-us company. My first brokerage was an independent, short on training but it was fine for me because I already knew how to be an entreprenuer and had been a fiduciary agent for over a decade. My second was a major franchise and I did experience a benifit from its broad, international marketing.

5 of them... 2 independent and 3 national franchises. The two best were Halstead Property in NYC, which was independent and RE/MAX which is a franchise. (The less said about the other three, the better.)

3 - the first an independent that became a franchise and then my own independent.

I've worked for a few franchises. And I will say that the support for a newer agent is why I stayed as long as I did. I'm now at a small boutique firm and I enjoy the friendliness of the other agents and broker compared to the ridged stiff competitive feel of the big branded brokerages.

3 so far:
Started with an independent - was a nightmare
Moved to a international company - was ok, but information was very dated and commission split was outrageous
Now with another international going on 10 years I think - works for me
3,350,439
Three. A very short stay with CB when I first got started. Then I moved to another growing company and stayed with them for 9 years - different offices as they expanded but the same company. Then, 5 years ago I went out on my own as an independent broker.

I've been with a franchise, a corporate owned, and an independently owned. The corporate owned is more controlling, policing every single document and what you fill in the document. Sometimes even getting a call from the person processing the document the reason you fill out this way. They are the cheapest, though, and I think that's how they attract agents. Franchise is the most expensive. Independently owned is in the middle between franchise and corporate. It is a more relax atmosphere.

3 real estate companies in 39 years starting with Century 21; then a Mom and Pop; and finally RE/MAX (21 years here!) I loved all of them...I managed all of them....opened an office for the Century 21 owner.... I've stayed in touch with all of the broker/owners.... and I could go back to any one of them....never burned a bridge.
1,466,257
Debbie Reynolds I was affiliated with four real estate companies. The outstanding one was my independent company.
716,529
Over all the years, 2 independents, 2 national franchises - ReMax the longest, and now Realty ONE Group for many years. I looked into owning as an independent but cheaper right now with large franchise box.

in my 12 years i have been with 4 - My first for 6 years was a franchise Big blue office when I learned what not to do as a broker, my next was for a year with a Pru office and learned how to do things by the book, next for about 6 months was the most illegal operation I have ever seen, many violation reports to FAR and they are still in business. Then I bought a NextHome franchise now going on my third year doing business like it should be done for the times we are in and beyond. All the tech and support one could ever want. just sayin'

One independent broker for just long enough to get my own license and open my own brokerage and that was in 2009 in California and 2013 in Hawaii. Love working for myself! My clients keep coming back, they like my independent spirit and they know I'm always there for them.
