Facebook.  I have a few mortgage-centric ones, but AR is the best in real estate.

Grammarly is a free website that allows you to write and save your posts then it corrects your spelling and grammar Virgie Vincent .  Very helpful.  Hate to say it, but more people on AR should be using some type of grammar/spelling program.

For me my Active Rain blog is my go to source for new clients, then taking it and posting it on other social media platform enhances my reach for new consumers. 

When I was an active agent I had an outside blog and website.  I never used social media to solicit business.  Things have changed a lot in the few years since.

You should view these SM platforms as follows:

Facebook - interest based. (the only advertising for which an agent needs to pay)

Google Adwords - behavior based. More likely to capture the 90 day market.

Pinerest - passion based. A superior beginning for developing a loyal following. (lifestyle)

I use any and all that are available that I know of including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Snap Chat, Linkedin.  Getting searchable is the key.

I'm sure, there are many others and I tried to create other profiles, but how much time you got on all of them? I barely can handle few social networks, it is a huge time commitment on  daily basis.

I don't post there but www.agentsonline.net has some very useful information to read. Anywhere from computers for real estate to marketing and more. This is one website that's a forum that comes in second to Active Rain.

You should have a presence on Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest plus others.

It depends on what your marketing strategy is what is useful. And then you have to define useful.

I suppose we could say to each his own - your sphere will dictate where you post. If they're all on Facebook, focus there, Instagram, post there often and if you have a website, post there for outside leads. It's so easy to share across the networks to reach your sphere and new consumers/readers also.

There are some fun and informative Realtor-centric facebook pages. Lab Coats is one. Real Estate Happy Hour is another.

Depends on what you want to do.  Spread your AR posts on G+ or LI. Everyone has the attention span of knat on FB so not a lot of writing required.

Eventually you should get your own Wordpress site & post to that first.

Very hepful read thru the comments! One thing I have not done yet is create my own site.... From this thread I think it would be valuable to have. 

The other platforms are great for sharing info such... the key is most exposure possible

There are several social media platforms, but there also right and wrong ways to use them. Just don't try to do too much at once.
